HOW IS THIS THE FIRST TIME I’VE SEEN THIS IT’S ALMOST AT 10 MILLION WTF
THIS IS MORE THAN DEAN WITH GYM SHORTS! WHAT
This is my friend’s baby bunny Peanut. He’s too cute for words
You shouldn’t have a rabbit that fucking young. $10 says they found it in their yard and decided to keep it.
Shitty. I hope it’s an orphan or something but find that highly unlikely.
Moms will leave their babies hiding in the grass and won’t come near with predators around. Even if its an orphan they should have taken it to a wildlife rescue
Please tell me this animal is a domestic rabbit that was shortly returned to its mother in a pen and not something you stupidly grabbed out of the wild
Women wear heels now so we don’t have to step in the blood of our enemies
Reblogging for that comment
There are bad zoos, and there are good zoos. There are zoos with good intentions but terrible enclosures and quality of care. And there are zoos that shine in enclosure construction, care, enrichment, education, etc. Zoos are one of our first lines of defense against extinction and ignorance about the world around us. People can come to a zoo with the only intent to “just see animals and leave” but a good facility will have signs everywhere and enthusiastic staff that will impart information upon and inspire zoo guests. Captive animals in good facilities are not “only for our entertainment.” They are wonderful to see, yes, but they are valuable resources for ongoing research as well as being a living, breathing example of why we need to respect our earth. Zoos have saved animals from extinction, and zoos have made massive impacts in conservation all around the world, as well as just in their own cities. Outreach, education, and teaching environmental responsibility are why I support zoos. Seeing that these animals are worth saving, connecting to them on a level beyond what is possible in a book for most people, that’s what’s important. Captive animals are captive, they cannot be released, and they wont, unless it’s for a specific reintroduction program like was the case with the California Condors. Those that think we can just empty the cages are extreme, harmful, and disrespectful to those who have extreme dedication to keeping these animals alive and healthy.
People always post the pictures of animals in concrete boxes looking miserable as a means of getting across the message: zoos are evil!! They take these photos and hold onto the archaic idea that we still keep these animals in little cells behind bars. There are terrible places that do, yes, but there are also many, many more facilities that are lightyears beyond that. Please don’t base your zoo opinions on this. It’s not forming an educated opinion and it’s not fair to the subject at hand.
Also gonna point out, the facility in question is Big Cat RESCUE, a place that doesn’t breed animals or trot them out for circus shows, but rather takes in animals that were in bad homes or couldn’t be cared for anymore by people who foolishly tried to keep them as pets.
These animals have spent their ENTIRE LIVES around humans and cannot be released into the wild, even the ones that aren’t inbred for weird colors like the white tigers or leucistic serval.
If you try to let these animals be free, THEY WILL DIE. There is no real room for deliberation about it, THEY WILL DIE. Very quickly and horrifically. Probably by a car, or by pissing of a human. Where, honestly, do you think there is a magical Shangri-La where these animals have enough slow moving prey to sloooowly teach themselves how to hunt, far enough away from people that the hand-raised cats won’t have a farm to wander into and begin terrifying the populace?
They have literally nowhere else to go but THE GROUND. The notion that “these animals should be free!” literally is completely USELESS because it can NEVER HAPPEN TO THEM. They’ll either live in captivity or they’ll starve.
Missing Czechoslovakian Wolfdog in Los Angeles. Typo on the flyer: She went missing on the 14th, not the 4th.
She looks remarkably like a coyote, which doesn’t bode too well. Anyone in the area please keep an eye out.
Here’s some “Tibetan wolf teeth” off eBay (from Chinese sellers) for comparison to the “fair trade petrified Tibetan wolf tooth” (bottom right). Mind you, the other teeth are not described as petrified and the first two are claimed to be made from yak bone (wtf).
There’s absolutely no fucking way that tooth is petrified or wolf or Tibetan. It’s a goddamn stained dog tooth from China. Seller claims the artist is an “expert taxidermist” and knows the difference between a dog tooth and a wolf tooth from hands-on experience. Bull. Shit.
Oh. And here’s a link to the item in question of you want to look at it yourself. And here’s a contact link if you want to send the seller a message about this. Maybe they’ll listen if more people speak up. (BTW, the necklace is being sold at nearly $100 it’s a huge fucking rip-off and a massive insult to customers. I’ve been a patron of this store for years and I can’t see myself continuing that now…)
Not to mention even if it was genuine it would be illegal to own or sell. Tibetan wolves are CITES Appendix I, the highest level of protection and up there with tigers and rhinos. Importing such a tooth would be totally illegal, even with paperwork. So if it was genuine the seller could face a massive fine and/or jail time for selling an illegal, protected item.
Either way I wouldn’t touch that thing with a barge pole.
I’d love to sit there and just drink my tea, listening to the rain
I’d love to have sex there and listen to the rain between moans
there are two kinds of people
Who really benefits from the pink ribbon campaigns: the cause or the company? In showing the real story of breast cancer and the lives of those who fight it, this film reveals the co-opting of what marketing experts have labeled a “dream cause.”
If you’re a woman, take the time to watch the documentary Pink Ribbons, Inc.
Watch it on
Youtube (for now…) (x)
Glad to see this on Tumblr. I don’t Pink. I don’t Run for a Cure. Write a check to your favorite women’s health charity.
I want a cure, I want research and support services and free diagnosis and treatment, I want lives saved. I do not give a flying fuck about pink ribbons, when less than 25% of Komen’s budget goes into research, but they do litigiously pursue competing organizations for trademark infringement.
Find an org that is all about research or care or free services or support and write a check, click a donate button, give to someone who calls you but stop supporting an org that doesn’t do the actual work.
seriously, everyone should see this.
